You guys! Peyton is finally home!! He was gone three months, and two days. But, he had so much fun, and can't wait to go back. Still, after delaying his return trip twice, I wasn't so sure he was actually going to show up until he texted he was on the plane!
Asa and I went to the airport yesterday to pick him up. And, we noticed the new flamingo has been installed in the main terminal!
Unfortunately, Peyton came back on what was the hottest day of the whole year so far (it was, until today of course). His first text to us when he got off the plane: "I forgot how effin humid it is here".
Check it out though, all five of us!
We stopped by Wendy's on the way home to grab some food. (You'll see below the one by our house finally opened and Peyton was looking forward to having one so close).
Peyton came back with lots of cool stuff. Jasmine apparently crochets! And they went to build a bear and he got the cutest Evie. But, he also bought me what has to be one of my favorite magnets, and Jasmine sent a game along for all of us as a little gift. She's the sweetest (she even rolled Peyton's clothese for him the way I did when he left, so it would all fit in his bag on the way home).
I do have a few other odds and ends I'm throwing onto this blog, since I'm leaving tomorrow for six days at Disney!
I've been busy making stuff. I did a couple of shirts for our Disney trip..
Some tiana ears (that reminds me, I need to pack my ears!)
I finally tried my hand at making one of those dresses you see people make on Pinterest where they take a couple yards of fabric and a tank top and turn it into a dress. I tried my hand at it without having to buy any supplies. I still had a bunch of Buccaneers fabric on hand, so I figured that was the best to use. And it worked out pretty well. I want to try again now with some cute Disney fabric so I can make a Disney dress (and it wouldn't hurt if I could figure out how to do pockets).
In cooking news, I made some really good soft pretzles (I'm getting better and better at these).
And Asa and I made knock-off triple dippers from Chilis for dinner one night. I did sliders and southwestern egg rolls in the air fryer, and Asa made the chicken tenders. It was awesome, and Calib and Hayden have already been asking to have it again.
Speaking of food, things are still effin expensive. You know it's bad when there's an article about Pub subs. So long $6.99 Chicken Tender Sale. At least Asa's growing us some stuff to help offset the rising prices.
Of course, Wendy's opened, so we were there a day or two later.
And we had our first tropical event, which basically just turned into cloud cover for us.
Hayden got his passport book back already, too. Though Asa and I are still waiting on ours.
And we've taken a few covid tests around here to make sure we are all good to go. Thanks for the free ones, US Government.
Also fun fact: we cut the cable cord and are going with a Youtube TV and Frontier combo. This has worked well, except the Frontier guy broke our box and for the first week the internet went out every time it rained until we realized why. They've fixed us all up now, though and we're saving about $100 a month.
And that's it! I've gotten you all caught up- Calib's birthday- Universal- and Peyton back in the U.S! (You can page back for the other blogs, I posted them all today). And tomorrow, it's our 12 year anniversary and Asa and I are headed to Disney. I'm not sure how much park-time we'll be doing, but we have some really exciting stuff going on. I'm talking Flaming Cheese, Homecomin, Cirque Du Soilel, Sangria University, and the Wild Africa Trek! I'm so excited, it's going to be awesome.
In the meantime, I leave you with all the pet pictures from the last few weeks.
Up next: 12 years married! Get ready for the latest picture in picture!
