Pool Sitting, 2022

We're pretty much the go-to neighbors  around here for all your away-from-home needs. We feed cats, walk dogs, bring in your mail, water plants, trim your palm tree. Whatever. We've got awesome neighbors. We're happy to do it. But, my favorite task is when our neighbors with the pool ask us to pool sit, and tell us to use the pool as much as we'd like! Um, that's pretty much everyday- sometimes multiple times a day. You can lose long tracks of time in that pool.

So, what does Pool sitting entail? Well, you have to put the treatment in once a week and keep it clean. Obviously we skim it daily.

But sometimes we even have to rescue crazy stuff from the pool. A baby lizard, sadly, didn't make it. But this baby black racer (that's a snake for you non-Florida people) was still kicking when we found it.

Of course, we also watch the hamster. We're not just pool sitters! We do it all.

This time of year, too, the pool is killer. It's refreshing, but still warm. And yes, that's what 85 degree pool water means to Floridians.

There was a lot of relaxing in the pool. Sometimes with just me and Asa.

Sometimes with the whole crew.

And sometimes there was lots of rough-housing in the pool. There was volleyball, and football, cage matches (see who is the first to get out of the pool) and of course lots of the ever famous Waterstraut-invented Emoji-Ball.

There was a lot of eating at the pool too. Sometimes it was just me and Asa, because we're basically the only one's awake at a normal lunch time.

And sometimes we got everyone there. Mostly to celebrate things.

The Lightning won one last game before losing the Stanley Cup to the Avalanche.

We celebrated Peyton's last couple of classes being passed with some PDQ (complete with sauces we had brought home from our anniversary from Chicken Guy).

And we celebrated some fun new work news for Asa with some special Pizza from the Pizza Pie (but I'll get to that post when it actually became official).

Peyton arrived home just before our anniversary, so we basically missed the first week he was back. He was, however, not feeling great, so he went to get a physical and all kinds of things to check him out. Turns out, he needed some glasses. The prescription is light, but enough to make a difference in his dizziness.

He's adjusting alright to being at home. You know, brothers to antagonize and all that. Jasmine was probably a much nicer roommate than Calib. Just guessing here.

Gas prices are still ridiculously high here. Though they are just starting to come down.

Lucky for us it's Hoagiefest at Wawa! ($6 full sized subs!)

We had a vistor while we sat outside and had ours.

And of course, I leave you with some dog pictures. Mostly Porkchop being completely terrified of storms.

Next Up: We're down to one teenager in the Waterstraut household, because Peyton turns 20!
