Mac & Cheese Sitting

Oh my goodness, I am RIDICULOUSLY behind on my blog. I uploaded pictures for like five of them, but never sorted and never wrote anything- and September and October (so far) has been so busy, I just never came back to it. This week, thankfully, there is very little on the calendar, so I'm trying to get caught up with things around the house- my blog- and just general chores and projects that have fallen behind.

So, forgive me for not sorting- or anything- but all of this was at least six weeks ago at this point, so lets speed through here.

I made some ears for my favorite Costco cashier- and brought them with me to Costco no less than five times before I finally saw Lindsay again. Do I know Lindsay outside of being the best Costco cashier there is? No, but man dealing with people like that all day- she deserved a pair of ears. She was quite excited about them, and even took a cute picture with me with them on, so I appreciated that.

Sadly, we also got our last free Chicken Salad Chick from going to the grand opening last year. Oddly enough, I thought our July one was the last- but there was one more hanging around, so our last was a surprise.

I also made sure to get the rest of my free birthday stuff. Was I excited about a free meal from Pollo Tropical? Eh, but I wasn't passing up a freebee, I brought it home and gave it to Calib, who was plenty enough excited about it.

There was some Star Dew Valley with Jake.

And Ama came over to bring us her cat that we cat sitted for the week.

This is Mac & Cheese (who we named!) He mostly hung out in Haydens room, because Ellie just wanted to have him, and Etta was just terrified of him, and Dipper was not too sure about him.

But man, was he a super cute snuggle bug.

Poor Etta- being terrorized.

There were some 'business dinners'.

College football was back: yay quad box!

And poor Calib missed passing his Calc exam by just a few questions (and his battery died at the end so he didn't get to finish all the questions). Per the usual, I made monkey bread so he could eat his feelings.

More cute Mac and Cheese. I'm telling you, total snuggle bug.

And more pouting Etta.

Jen was watching another neighbors house for the weekend, and invited me to help take care of the axolotl's! I had no idea Blue Spring Drive had their very own Axolotls! I even got to pet them!!! Hayden was so jealous when they got up and realized they had slept through axolotl petting.

Over the course of his week here, Mac did become more comfortable with the dogs. I'm not sure Phenom even knew he was there. And Ellie just wanted to lick him.

After the hurricane madness, I did power wash the back porch before putting anything back out there. It;s always nice to do after the summer because then you get all the yucky summer slime away.

And while not open the doors weather yet- it is amazing how cool 88 can feel when you're in September. You just get those first hints of not swamp days and it's glorious.

After a failure earlier, Calib did pass his calculus. It was a big term for him with three four credit classes, and he was rewarded for his efforts with some PDQ.

Plus they just so happened to have bogo tenders for labor day weekend (or maybe football opening weekend, I don't really remember now), so it worked out perfect.

Very different reactions from dogs here when Hayden was holding Mac.

Mac wasn't the only new guy in the neighborhood. Vince and Alicia got a new member of the family! We didn't get to love on Missy at first, because she had some cough from her days in the shelter, but as soon as she finished her anitbotics we were ready to give her all the pets and hugs. She is just the sweetest thing. We ran into her on her walk with Vince on the way down to the lodge, so we tagged along.

Dome invited us up to the lodge to play some pool. Asa was not super keen on going and sent this picture with the caption 'if you're not here in five minutes, I'm leaving'.

But, they showed up - with snacks and drinks and we played pool and looked at Christmas stuff and hung out, and it was fun to have a change of scenery our house.

Though the lodge does close at 9, so we ended up back here playing Jackbox game and ordering pizza. Apparently I was the only one in the neighborhood that knew about the 'Rays6' promo code (everytime the Rays score 6 runs the next day you can get half off Papa Johns!)

A good time was had by all- but Phenom is not about the late night life these days. He's pretty cool about it if you bring out his bed though.

Missy wasn't the only knew pup to the neighborhood, Fire Theresa down the street also got a new family member. I made pupcakes to welcome Harley to the crew, but then Theresa wasn't around, so my pups ended up with all of them.

And we still had Mac..

We did do a DnD session with Mike and Marcus too.

Our pups did start to feel pretty jealous toward the end of the week with Mac, they just climbed up all around me like this.

The fantasy season was also upon us. And yet again, for the fourth year running I injured my first round pick. And yet again, Garrett is always complaining about how unfair it all is.

It might nto be quite feeling like fall yet- but Pumpkin Spice is back, which we love. You really have to get it iced around here, when it's still 90 degrees, but I'll take it however I can get it.

Of course there was some crafting happening: I kept working on some ears- a big fan of the queen of hearts one. And, I made my macrame feather a little less floppy with some fabric stiffener spray (I was trying it out for my upcoming crafting with corinne class)

And I leave you with Waterstraut pup pictures. Etta was gifted a slow eater bowl on our Buy Nothing group and it has helped tremendously. It's giving the other dogs more time to eat before Etta's trying to get in their faces. (She is getting better on leaving the kitchen when she is done though). Ellie isn't a slow eater- but she's become a bowl licker. She really likes the rice and squash mixture we've been feeding her mixed with some of her kibble.

Next up: A couple of Corinne and Asa days.
