Picking up where we left off.
Day 231 Friday, October 30
We finally got another nice weather day! So we got to have the doors open all day for the first time in weeks.
And we took a couple walks. Joined by some birds.
Saw this sign. Loved it.
There's something so lovely about having the doors open!!
We also grilled out for dinner.
And ate dinner outside.
And took an after dinner walk. So basically, Friday was all about nice weather, and I loved it. Cooler weather has such a positive affect on my mood.
Day 232 Saturday, October 31
A pandemic halloween! We didn't hand out candy, because our neighborhood said they were canceling it. Turns out, tons of people gave out candy anyway (which we discovered during our after dinner walk), a bunch of people had parties, and there were hayrides. So, not exactly very pandemic-y for much of my neighborhood. But we kept to ourselves here.
We carved pumpkins.
Hayden doesn't like pulling out the goop, so I did that for him, and then he carved (scooping out the goop is Calib's favorite part!)
I bought three pumpkins in case Peyton wanted one. He didn't, so I had one to carve!
I made mine a pandemic friendly pumpkin.
Contrary to popular belief, Mr. Pumpkin is wearing his mask correctly, that's the bridge of his nose showing, not the nostrils part!
Calib and Hayden both carved their pumpkins freehand.
Hayden got very artsy with his.
Hayden also dressed up as 'three hole punch Jim' all on his own.
And for dinner, I made a fun little Halloween bar. We had Halloween Pasta Salad.
Plus some deviled eggs, and some healthier stuff.
And charcuterie.
But basically a whole bunch of sweets. There were a lot of desserts.
And tons of candy. Since there was no trick or treating this year, and no Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Parties.
Everyone was pretty happy with the spread.
Like, I said, we took an after dinner walk, and ran into tons of trick or treaters, lots of people giving out candy, and some parties. And one lone little girl wearing a mask.
We also finished our Lion King puzzle.
Don't know if you can see it, but the pieces are really weird on this one. Kind of fun. A change for sure.
And then we started our next puzzle. The last of our four Haunted Mansion Puzzles. Fitting for Halloween.
I wanted to light up the pumpkins to take a picture, but turned out I didn't have any tea candles. So, I made do with some playdough and birthday candles.
And the pumpkins lit up did not disappoint.
Hayden's was really cool.
But Calib's turned out cool too.
And then Halloween Night we paid $5 to watch the Nightmare Before Christmas Broadway/Zoom Edition. It was really good. We loved it.
Day 233 Sunday, November 1
Asa and I ran errands Sunday morning. We got up early (well, early in part because of the time change), and went to Lowes right when they opened. Still, it was busy. But, we got everything to make a fire pit for our House Anniversary on Saturday.
Hayden Zoomed with Garrett to see which of his wrestling guys Garrett wanted (Hayden's outgrown them and generously thought to give them to Garrett).
Of course it was football Sunday, though the Bucs didn't play.
And there were arguments over leftover Halloween candy.
And Etta stole Calib's phone.
That's it... and next up: Election Day!
