Same old, same old here the last few days. We've passed more days in 2020 spent in quarantine than not. What's been going on in the world the past couple days? We're nearing the 100,000 deaths mark (99,498) and 1.7 million cases. More and more states are opening, and lots of groups of people are being social media shamed for not practicing social distancing over Memorial day. Beaches in Florida, a pool party in the Ozarks, a boardwalk in Maryland. I'm going to believe those are some outliers and cross my fingers the majority of us are being more responsible than that. There were quite a few people having parties this weekend as we walked the neighborhood. But, people were outside, and distanced, at least some. And outside is better, right?
In the Trump world, Biden has been made fun of on Twitter for wearing a mask to Memorial Day events, and Trump retweeted it. Because, he's a moron. Oh, and he said if the RNC can't hold their convention in Charlotte with a full stadium, they might move somewhere they CAN hold it. I'll give you one guess what idiotic state offered to have a full stadium in August? Oh, Florida. I have such a love-hate relationship with you.
Anyway, I'll get you caught up on the Waterstraut happenings over the last couple days in quarantine.
It rained some this weekend. But we dodged it enough for a bike ride Sunday morning.
We also decided to play some Price-Is-Right Games but instead of prices, we used what day of quarantine certain things happened. Of course they had to bid to get on "stage".
Peyton got the game where you have to pick the numbers for the car. But, this time he was picking the days on which we completed puzzles. The game was over when he got four wrong, or all three correct.
He was terrible at it. He picked all the wrong answers.
Calib got the higher and lower clock game.
And Hayden got the mountain climber game, where you can only be off a certain number before the little guy falls off the cliff.
He also was not a winner.
After Price-Is-Right we opened another box of Jones Soda, and the boys had their draft.
We are working on finding some sort of mask that's usable outside in this weather. The neck gaiters are better than our current masks, but Hayden and I have plans to make various masks and have a science experiment to see what works best.
Asa also made me a No Way Jose. I miss Disney.
We also kept working on our impossibly difficult puzzle.
Disaster struck when Dipper jumped on the puzzle yesterday morning, partially sliding it off the table and onto the floor. It took awhile to fix it.
And several of us ended up on Fight Club as a result of the incident.
Seriously, this puzzle is brutal. I'm starting to see why it was the only puzzle we could get our hands on.
Yesterday was really rainy and cloudy. We did squeeze in two walks around the loop, though. Ellie even came along for one.
We also had take out from Ford's Garage!
Which we ate with all the Sattlers on Zoom. My mom is heading back to Fremont today, after 75 days in Loveland with Cort and Holly. Gwen is going to miss her baking buddy.
Last night we had a five person Civ Game going. I had no idea what I was doing, but I was trying to collect lots of animals. But then I accidentally gifted my war elephants to Asa. At least I had ice cream and The Princess and the Frog to watch. (What an underrated movie- also, what would we do in quarantine without Disney Plus?! What does ANYONE do in quarantine without it?!)
Most popular "hurricane snacks": Ice Cream
Current binge watching obsession: We started and finished 'Run' in two days. Not terrible. But, I hated the ending.
Most popular game: Does the puzzle count as a game?
Boredness scale 1 to 10: 3. I did ok this weekend.
Frozen II Watchthroughs: 38. Something has to be on while we work on this puzzle.
How many times we've walked the loop: 60. I wanted to go this morning but Ellie stopped and sniffed EVERYTHING. It took us half an hour to go half a mile.
Days Down: 73. That's, a lot of days.
Days Remaining: Undetermined. Calib's birthday is Monday. We have plans to go to the beach, for the first fun outing since February 29th.
