Social Distancing Journal, Day 446 thru 452

 Day 446: Wednesday, June 2

More good news!

And just in time to hit the summer pattern here. No need to check the weather. It'll be about 90 degrees, humid as hell, and could rain at any moment. And that's your forecast for the next three months.

Lucky for us, we're pool-sitting- er, house sitting.

Day 447: Thursday, June 3

It's Hayden's 2nd dose day! We are just two weeks away from a return to normal people!

Even Florida is turning around!

Those vaccines are everywhere. Please, please, get one!

As vaccinations go up- things return to normal!

But, some of the Pandemic good stuff is staying!

It'll all make for an awesome summer, people. So get vaccinated!

Sadly, there are still people dying. We hit another milestone nobody wants to see.

For us, we are about two weeks away from not worrying so much. I'm still wearing my mask in Costco and other places where it's not required, but we'll re-evaluate once Hayden is fully vaccinated too.

In the meantime, while we wait, we make the best of things.

Thursday marked three weeks since Hayden's first Pfizer dose, so we were back at Walgreens for his second dose. He wore the perfect shirt for the occasion!

And he went with the left arm again. You know, our highly scientific theory that left armers have only mild side effects, while right armers have had hefty side effects.

I just want to say, this whole thing is pretty amazing. Here we are, early June and all of us are vaccinated. I never would have believed it if you told me even six months ago. I wasn't sure we'd be vaccinated by my birthday. And we're all clearing that by like two months.

Just, a big collective sigh of relief, and a big thank you to everyone who worked on it, who distributed it, and who made this all possible.

And with that, our countdown clock goes to 14 days.

Which means it was time for Calib to lose his quarantine look. Hair cut day!

Before...

And after..

Although he did end up shaving his beard off too.

That's A LOT of hair!

We could make a whole other Calib!

To celebrate: Blaze Pizza at the Pool.

(And some tired dogs who still have not recovered from Calib's 24 hours of birthday).

Day 448: Friday, June 4

Return to normal: 13 days!

And Calib, without a beard!

And Etta, terrified of afternoon storms.

And a Dipper picture for good measure.

We've FINALLY had afternoon rain, which we desperately needed (for real, the ponds were lower than I've maybe ever seen them). But the garden also needed it.

Now we've got some bananas coming!

And a ton of lemons. This is just one branch!

Asa and I ran some errands, and swung by All You Can Swirl. I so missed serve your own Froyo.

We've also been on a big Catan kick lately. The person who last won gets to design the new board. This was Asa's idea. (I did not love it.)

Day 449: Saturday, June 5

Worth noting on Saturday, Florida announced they wouldn't be releasing Covid cases by the day anymore. Instead, we'll get weekly reports on Wednesdays.

All of this is thanks to vaccinations- so please, get vaccinated!

Here, we're in celebration mode. Hayden's just waiting on his antibodies. We're almost there.

But, we're also trying to adjust back to normal sleeping schedules after 24 hours of birthday. It's not been working great- we've been waking up early.

But, that did make for a good time to order breakfast! (Plus, I had a killer coupon).

And while we wait on antibodies we've been hanging out at the pool.

Saturday we had lunch over there and spent a good three hours floating about.

And another Catan game...

And movie night!

We've discovered there is lots Hayden hasn't seen or doesn't remember, so we're working our way back through those. Saturday night Shrek was up.

Day 450: Sunday, June 6

Weekend bike rides are getting a bit hot. So getting up early is at least helpful here.

But then it becomes more of a breakfast situation than a lunch one. Which, is still ok.

We also spent Sunday in the pool and grilling out.

I even brought over the stuff to make lemon shake ups which the boys enjoyed.

And more catan.

Hayden and I have also been big fans of mastermind lately.

And it seems like someone is always playing Rock Band.

Dipper is a fan of the drum sticks.

And Etta is not a fan of Dipper messing with the drum sticks.

Day 451: Monday, June 7

Hayden and I were back at the pool to cool off.

And we took a nice afternoon walk, and spotted this guy.

And a maze through a bunch of sod.

And then we snuggled in for some Disney movies- we've been watching them to finish out the Disney movie bucket list we printed out last April during Quarantine.

Day 452: Tuesday, June 8

This is Asa on hold with Disney, playing Madden.

You see, we got up at about 6:15 to make sure we could call Disney RIGHT at 7am, when tickets for Boo Bash (their Not So Scary Halloween Party Replacement) for hotel guests. Now Boo Bash starts on my birthday, when we happen to be staying at Disney. So, we knew we wanted to go. But man, I had no idea getting tickets would be so hard.

THREE hours of being on hold and we were finally able to purchase them. And that was lucky- the ticketing system later went down- some people were on hold much longer- and that's if you could even get through. Cort and his family will also be here- and he tried to call to get theirs and was only met with "all circuits are busy". (Luckily, we were able to get the tickets for his family too).

But you know, I did it all with a smile. Because man, while some people in the world still aren't lucky enough to be able to get the vaccine, we're over here like 'I NEED MY BOO BASH TICKETS!" And I get that is a huge privilege.  Though, heads up Disney, you could have a way better playlist of hold music. We heard Winnie the Pooh no less than 13 times, and that live action remake of the Lion King is just terrible.

Still, tickets are incoming. WE'RE GOING TO BOO BASH FOR MY BIRTHDAY!

After our long morning, we headed on over to the pool.

Though last night their were some serious storms. Porkchop may look happy in this picture, but this is him whining and frantically panting while sitting on my shoulder during last nights thunder.
