Let's head back to the end of June (I think this was Saturday the 26th). Good news of the day! (Sort of- the more, the better).
And, I saved a life. This little froggie found himself in the pool, and needed some saving,.
We also ordered pizza- thanks to the Lightning winning and getting us half off1
And fireworks were testing at Disney!
Asa and I had a date night.
And we played some Civ in the blanket fort.
Sunday June 27
Life getting back to normal!
Fireworks AND Tinkerbell at the Magic Kingdom! Be still my heart.
Some things are still not quite back to normal, though.
It's also getting real hot out there, so bike ride/picnics are not as fun as they used to be.
Which is a bummer, because I just got my new (detachable!) basket.
At least we had the pool and drinks to cool us down.
And Catan to keep us busy in the air conditioned blanket fort.
Asa has taken to keeping tabs on dice rolls to see how much he got screwed by dice rolls.
And some snacks to round out the evening.
Crafting Monday from our library bags were some keychains this time.
Thursday, July 1
Hayden spent some time drawing and always lays them all out for voting on our favorites. His brothers sometimes humor him.
And evening walk yeilded a deer sighting..
And a baby gator sighting.
And we had a night time swim!
Tuesday June 29
Bolts win Game 1 in the Stanley Cup finals.
Joe Biden even got in on the fun.
Oh, and as cases rise a bit: there's this.
On my evening walk, some turkey vultures were having a field day with someone's garbage.
Wednesday June 30
I think there's a storm coming in.
But it's Florida. Storms one minute. Sunny the next.
We also finally got around to a movie night.
To watch Luca!
July 1 does seem a bit early for a tropical storm.
But who cares! FIREWORKS! AT DISNEY!!
Etta being Etta.
Another life saved.
Starting off the birthday celebration early, with dinner from Greenland Grill
(Uber Eats screwed up our order and Calib had to end up picking it up but then we got double the order, so not so bad.)
Firday July 2: Peyton's 19th Birthday!
We headed on over to the neighbors for some pool time, and Hayden stopped by the piano.
Now, we did do the Waterstraut Olympics this day- it worked with when we had the pool, and when Calib had a day off. So, Peyton was kind enough to share his birthday with the Waterstraut Olympics. But, I'll get to that next blog.
For now, we're just hanging out at the pool on Peyton's birthday!
And, thanks to grandma, we ordered out for sushi.
So, some sushi and some games. Not so bad.
We had a couple of gifts for him.
But, mostly the coupon we've been giving out in Covid times.
And for a cake: fruit pizza!
He also had a dutch apple pie from Publix, per his request.
And some Mario Kart (lots of Mario Kart) to end the day.
And in the meantime, Elsa continued to head this way
