Day 11 of our Olympic Events took place on Saturday! Our events for the day included Field Hockey & Baseball.
(And some lunch in the blanket fort was in order).
Field Hockey was simple. I took the hurdles from yesterdays event and turned them into goals. Each ball had to go in one goal- and you had to hit them through with the Field Hockey Stick (aka Golf Club) .
Since all the balls were different, some of them proved easier than others.
And everyone had a different strategy.
The fastest time was the winner.
Which ended up being Peyton! Calib got the silver, and Hayden came in with the Bronze.
Baseball was easy. You got ten water balloon pitches. Person to break the most balloons was the winner.
(FYI, this is the way to go when purchasing water balloons)>
I pitched to all the boys.
And they all did pretty well.
Then later, it looked like so much fun, Asa pitched to me- and then let Hayden hit a few more just for fun.
Your baseball medalists (So, I "tied" Peyton for silver and still let Hayden have a bronze because he's a little behind in the medal count, and I was just trying to help a guy out!)
If you saw the Track and Field Blog, you know today's country is Uganda.
Would you have been able to figure it out with just the info sheet?
For dinner we had For dinner we had Ugandan Kabobs, Ugandan Curried Potatoes, roasted carrots, and mango.
And for dessert, we kind of cheated as far as the Mandazi, a traditional Ugandan dessert, went.
I basically took beignet mix and added coconut milk instead of water, and called it a day. (I am not being as strict about following recipes to a T this go around).
As for our winning bets of the day, nobody was getting a pay out for Men's Discus.
And a funny picture for you to end today's blog: Watching the Olympics that night, poor Etta was a little on the gassy side.
