Feeling 22

It's finally June! Which, basically just means brace yourself for some warm, humid coming months. But, it's also birthday/anniversary time! (Technically Peyton's birthday is in July, but it's only two days in, so it kind of counts too).

Back on the first, Calib turned 22. TWENTY-TWO. That's like a full grown adult. We're all old, man.

He awoke to some presents and birthday donuts.

We got him some stuff he usually buys himself at Costco.. but we also got some tickets to a Bucs game! We're finally going to see the good Bucs play, Tom Brady and all! The game isn't until October 9, but we haven't been to a Bucs game since 2019, and even then, they weren't awesome. So, that's certainly something to look forward to!

We played some Mario Kart, and the guys played some basketball.

And for dinner we all headed into Tampa to go to Armature Works. We told Calib about it when we visited back in May (or April?) and he thought it'd be a fun birthday destination spot.

We nabbed all kinds of food from various booths, and as a bonus it was still Happy Hour so we got 2 for 1 Sangrias!

At the Greek place Kipos, we got some Halloumi fried cheese. I've wanted this forever, and it did not disappoint. It might have been my favorite thing I had.

Hayden's choice was these crazy queso/taco things and all kinds of dipping sauces. This was also very good.

We also went to Empanmamas and got Empanadas. We got one of each kind they had: a chicken BLT, a cheeseburger, and a cuban. The cuban was probably my favorite. But, I am pretty confident now I can say I like actual empanadas. I do not, however, like frozen food section empanadas. Two completely different things.

We also tried the vegan place. The "chicken" sandwich was pretty good, but I gotta say, we all agreed the mac and cheese was not. Weird texture and all that.

To round out the meal we got a whole mess of nachos.

And, a nutella cookie from Bakin Babes.

The rain was coming, but we did take a little walk around after dinner.

Back at home we played some Tammany Hall. We stopped playing this game because Calib's gotten too mean and cut throat about it. It's like his Lifeboats. And now, instead of Lifeboats only being brought out for Mother's Day, Tammany Hall is only brought out for Calib's birthday. (Asa ended up winning, for the record).

We finished the evening with the Lightning Game. They've now advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals for the third year in a row, but sadly they dropped their first game. I'm hoping for a win this time, because I've missed two boat parades. I will not miss a third (if it happens!)

So thats it. Happy Birthday to Calib, who somehow now is 22.
