Holidaycation Day 5

Asa and I ended our weekday vacation on Friday, by heading over to Fantasia Gardens for some mini golf. It comes free once a day with our passes, and I've been wanting to play this course for awhile now. But, the waits can be hefty. Since we were in Orlando so early, I knew we could be there pretty close to open (at 10:30) and not have to wait at all. So, after having breakfast (with Mickey Waffles!) at Hampton Inn, we headed on over to mini golf.

This course doesn't have traditional mini golf obstacles, but is more like a putting green.

And it's HARD Asa lost a couple balls, and it almost always took us over par. But we had fun!

After mini golf, we took the ferry boat and headed on over to the Magic Kingdom.

We got lucky with our timing, and happened to walk in just before the afternoon parade. We hadn't seen this since it came back from covid, either.

We spotted some new floats, and we got to see the Malificent dragon breathe fire!

The Magic Kingdom is always so crowded at Christmas, no matter when you go. But, it's so nice to see it all decorated for Christmas, I get why.

Plus, it's still the 50th anniversary, so all those things- including the golden statues are still ongoing.

We avoided the crowds the best we could. First, we went on the People Mover, where you can get some really good views of the nearly-complete Tron roller coaster.

And then we crossed through the hub and made our way to Sleepy Hallow to pick up our mobile order for lunch.

We each got our own waffle sandwich- Asa with the sweet and spicy chicken, me with the fruit and nutella. Both of us were happy with our choices, and I'm pleased the waffles have gotten a little thinner- they are easier to handle (though still pretty messy).

Country Bear Jamboree is always a good go-to on a busy day. Plus, it's one of Asa's faves.

For me, the go-to is always the Hall of Presidents. Not only do you get to see the show, but there's always new stuff roating through the display in the waiting area.

And we got front row, so I got to see all the animatronics close up!

A stop by the Tangled Bathrooms is always a must.

And, the new edition of Philharmagic cannot be missed.

Dumbo was a short wait, so we headed over there, which we basically walked on.

ANd then we did a little nosing around the stores to see anything new they had.

We finished up with a trip to Monsters Laugh Floor, where Asa got to be the churro guy! Iykyk.

By now the people who had bought tickets to the Very Merry Christmas Party were heading into the Magic Kingdom, so we made our way out, but overall, it was a nice day in the Magic Kingdom enjoying the festive atmosphere. Just what I wanted out of Holidaycation.

On the way home, we stopped for dinner in Lakeland.

We got home just about 9, in time for the weekend! Good thing, since we had such a busy week.

Next Up: Dog Celebrations and Christmas activities!
