Sunday the 18th, the day after our anniversary, we were headed home. But we did decide to have a nice leisurely morning around the resort, since we had scored a late check out the night before (It pays to list that you're celebrating something on your reservation, people!)
We did want to stop down by the lobby, and get one last beignet, and on our way we were surprised with Goofy and Pluto, who just so happened to be hanging around the resort. No line to see them, just a casual Goofy/Pluto meet up. I think this sort of thing at the resorts started during covid, but I'd yet to be surprised with such a sighting. Ask Asa, I basically ran for them the second I saw them!

And how does your morning get any better when you've spent time with Goofy and Pluto, and gotten a cinnamon sugar Mickey Beignet? Well, let me tell you... by getting a free night at a moderate resort! Because Asa had gone up to very politely ask the front desk about the boats being down (sometimes they'll knock a bit off your room rate if you're really nice about it)... and they gifted us with a future free night! So, we're debating when to use that. But, so super awesome.
We did decide we had just enough time to hit the pool one last time too.
Which meant one last visit with out friends of the gator band.
And a few rides on the waterslide.
And then it was time to pack up and say goodbye to room 4215- a great room location (especially for the price!) if you ask me.
Before we left Disney property though, we had one last meal planned at one of our Disney Springs favorites: Raglan Road. Since it was brunch time, we even got live music and dancers, though we were tucked off in the corner.
Asa got some sort of pork belly egg breakfast thing- that he just adored. Probably his favorite thing all trip.
And I got some bread pudding french toast, which was absolutely killer.
And then we spent some time wandering around Disney Springs. We even got ourselves some of those new fancy Magic Bands to replace our old ones. And these are even rechargable!
We did also treat ourselves to our favorite cruise ship drink of choice: Iced White Chocolate Mochas.
And said hello to some of our Disney favorites. That about did it for our anniversary trip, a good time was had. Good food was eaten. But my favorite was the good company.
On the way home, we swung by Keel Farms. I was hoping to get some of their Watermelon Cider, but they were sold out, so we did grab the wine just to try that. (It was fine- but not probably something I'll get again).
And we also brought home some desserts from Amorette's. Usually I get the lemon curd cheesecake, but apparently they don't have that anymore.
The passionfruit puff and the tropical cheesecake were good though. Per usual of treats I bring home, I did share them with the kiddos. We also grabbed a bunch of chicken guy sauces to bring home to have on chicken sandwiches, so anniversary food could live on.
The garden survived ok while we were gone. Though my sunflowers REALLY took off. I had some getting really tall...
...and some blooming!
For the record, the kids did an awesome job holding down the fort at home. The house was clean, Hayden had my bedding washed, the dogs had all been taken care of (though Etta still missed the crap out of Asa), and in general it was probably one of the best jobs they've ever done staying at home without us.
Next up: I'm so behind on blogs, I'm not even sure whats up next..
