Saint Augustine

Again, we are firmly in catch up mode. So, lets super super quickly share our October trip to Saint Augustine.

We hadn't ever been up that way, and we love the one night-two day vacation (like we did in Sarasota) so we decided to try it out a little further from home this time.

We checked into the hotel, parked, and wandered into downtown since it was an easy walk from our hotel.

Our first stop was at the San Sebastion Winery, which we made with only seconds to spare for their last tasting of the day.

We got a tout.

And had the tasting. Asa made some guy laugh
when he said he was going to start describing his hooch like wine "this is a full bodied hooch brewed in the kitchen".

Of course this was back during Halloween time- so pumpkins were everywhere.

We visited Flagler college which has just gorgeous architecture.

We found a place serving Australian Meat Pies. Olivia happened to be in Australia then as well (with my mom, Clint, and Jess) so we sent her pictures.

And we walked through the old parts of town. It was funny because this wasn't long after having been in Philadelphia, so you got lots of history, but both very different.

We also made our way down St George Street.

And foudn this place called the 'Prohibition Kitchen'. So of course I had to get a Prohibition cocktail.

But we also noshed on some awesome fries.

Back outside, we continued down St George street.

And eventually found some dessert.

We decided to walk down and visit the fort, though we just sat by the water and then walked around the outside, since the inside closes earlier.

The next morning we had a nice breakfast at the hotel and then went out to find the light house.

Then we drove over to Saint Augustine Beach.

Turns out the Atlantic was already pretty cold.

Overall, we enjoyed our Corinne and Asa time in Saint Augustine- though I will say I feel like while we did do it on a strict budget, it just seems like everything had kind of a steep admission fee, where as Philly, we could do a lot not just on the cheap- but for free. Still, so glad we went.
