And the Sorcerer's Stone

A qucik blog again today, as we only have 9 minutes until the Colts Broncos kick off.

In case I didn't show you yesterday, here's how we're keeping track of house points- at the end of the day (year) the person with the most house gems will get 10 points. I made them with some dollar store vases, and some print outs. I just glued them on with a little glue water mixture, and painted the whole vase with the mixture giving it a frosted look.

Our classes were up for the day.

We had Cauldron Cakes for Brunch. Asa did a fabulous job on these!

And the boys had mail from their owls this morning- various worksheets with a Harry Potter theme, that they had to complete.

The owls will take their worksheets back to the home office at night, and bring back house gems depending on how well they did.

They wanted to name their owls, and label them.

The boys made wands with wooden dowels, some hot glue to give them some texture, and some paint.

They got their potions books in their first potions class.

For Herbology, they planted some seeds...

...for Mandrakes (aka, carrots, tomatoes, and cilantro for you Muggles)

Then I pulled out their brooms. I was delighted when I found some at the dollar store!

So they used Sharpies to decorate them.

(FYI, Hayden doesn't believe us this is not how you ride a broom)

Peyton made the Nimbus 2000, while Calib went with the Firebolt.

Then we had flying lessons. Peyton and Calib won at 4.26 seconds to run the course.

And now it's time for dinner and the game. Peyton Manning would want us to have Papa John's for dinner. Go Broncos! (We're totally nervous about this game though! Not super confident, but Peyton is sporting his good luck SIGNED jersey)

We'll award the house cup tonight, and tomorrow we have a shorter day too since Calib has his OSI class.

Next Up: The Chamber of Secrets has been opened!
