Day 8: Honorary Milford Eagles

We woke up Friday morning at mom's house, and while Asa worked, I started tagging Hayden's entries for the fair. We all got a little derailed, however, when Gwen texted asking if she could have grandma's old record player. Asa then spent the rest of his morning trying to get it to work.

Hayden, meanwhile, took a few more pictures for the fair.

And then Emily showed up for a visit. Emily was my college roommate. She was there when Calib was born, so it blows her mind that Calib's now a full grown adult. But, we spent the whole afternoon visiting which was awesome. It was super nice of her to drive all the way over just to hang out.

Friday was Calib's only day in Fremont, as he was heading to Corts that evening (and then flew out of Cincinnati on Sunday), so we let him pick our lunch spot and he wanted to go to Woody's. It's an outdoor place, with picnic tables, and awesome rootbeer. (The food is so-so, but Calib insists it's delicious). It took awhile for our food, but everyone enjoyed the rootbeer.

After lunch Asa and the kids headed down to Cincinnati. They made it in time to go to Gwen's high school football game.

She plays in the band, and I made everyone matching shirts for the occassion. (You'll note they say: Gwen's dad, Gwen's Uncle, and Gwen's cousin). She might have been slightly embarrassed by the whole event (note her in the middle of the picture).

Garrett of course made everyone celebatory milkshakes after the Milford win.

Meanwhile, Emily headed home and mom and I got the rest of Hayden's stuff ready for the fair. We also made it just in time to get take out Chinese from Peking, the best Chinese resturant ever (the eggrolls really make it).

And that was our Friday. A lot less action that our vacation days up until that point. But, the weekend was also jammed packed.

Next Up: visiting Cort and Holly's lakehouse
