Social Distancing Journal, Day 98 & 99

So Friday Asa and I had a couple of ideas. We thought about maybe hitting up Sparkman Wharf in Tampa and renting an E-boat. But, by Friday Tampa's cases were very alarming. We did want to go to Treehoppers north of us, and that probably would have been ok- but it was a lot of money to spend and not know exactly how socially distant we could be (anything else we did, I was fine bailing if there were too many people around).

So, we decided the smartest course of action was just to stay home. Besides, we had a pool to use and some projects to work on. Friday morning we finished our Chicago puzzle.

And decided to make Mickey Waffles and mimosas again, because why the heck not?!

And then we spent some time at the pool.

Before heading back to work on our picture wall.

We also had a cookout for dinner Friday night (our neighbors are so kind they even filled the propane and told us to use the grill!)

And everyone came over for swimming and hanging out, which was nice. The boys were very independent for the week though. We didn't do any chores (Peyton even FOLDED laundry, while Calib got up to walk Ellie in the morning, and Hayden always made sure to take care of the dishes- even if Asa and I just dumped ours into the sink and went on our way), and they basically ran the house. If something needed done, I might mention it to them- but they always got right on it. All we had to say is "I'm not supposed to be here" and they hopped to.

Peyton didn't swim on Friday, but he poured drinks and hung out.

And we finished up the evening with a movie and some more of our cake.

Saturday would have been our come home day, and we should have had Afternoon Tea at the Garden View Tea Room at the Grand Floridian. So we decided to have it at home.

And seeing as it was the first day of summer, it was time to put away the Spring coffee mugs and break out the summer coffee mugs.

Afternoon tea would have had tea (obviously), pastries and sandwiches.

We purchased a Mrs. Potts along with our Mickey Waffle Iron so we could have tea from her. Asa made chicken salad, which we put on mini croissants we had delivered from Publix, and then we had some meat and cheese, a couple of those mini lemon cakes from Costco. I'll be having afternoon tea again sometime. It was lovely.

Our garden is in a summer lull right now- it's too hot for much besides peppers, but our onions were also finally big enough to pick.

And you might remember the little wheel mishap we had with our lawn mower- so off we went to get a new one. We sprung for a fancy electric one. No more gas for the lawn mower. I'm so excited. We did curbside pick up at Home Depot, and it was kind of a mess. But, at least we didn't have to go inside. We also did curbside pick up at Michaels to get a frame for our Chicago puzzle.

Headed back over to the pool for dinner, we brought supplies for lemon shake ups.

And we ordered a family meal bundle from Blaze Pizza for dinner. We got two large pizzas, a large salad, four garlic knots, and four desserts- all delivered for $30. A pretty good deal, I thought.

Asa wants more self taken pizza pictures. So, there we are.

The five of us had a fun trip to the pool to wrap up the week.

So again, I feel like there were worse things going on in the world this week than us losing out on a Disney trip. It's a total first world problem, and I'm kind of getting over it now that it would be over anyway. We had a good time. We certainly made the best of things, and it'll be one to remember for sure.
