Wrapping Up Game Show Week

We've had a pretty full week around here with Asa in the office, school work, different events and theme weeks. I don't know how people who work 8-5 Monday thru Friday get anything done. I feel like when Asa leaves work at 4:30 the evening just vanishes. We missed two library events this week because we couldn't get there by six with dinner and everything, we also missed free slurpies for 7-11 day because they were sold out by the time Asa was done with work.

But, it does allow me to get a lot done around here. Both the boys portfolio photo books are done, the laundry is clean, game week was all put together, next week is prepped, and I've gotten lots of little things taken care of around the house.

Wednesday we were able to get to Hayden's summer reading club event at the library, since Asa was off work. This week's theme was weather. Hayden read some stories, and did some crafts.

He collected his prize for reading books this past week too. They were nice enough to give him two since we missed last week (since it was Peyton's birthday).

A shout out to Target this week. Our comforter set we bought back in March was falling apart already. It was way past 90 days and we didn't have a receipt, but they replaced it no problem.

Wednesday night was our take on 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?', we called it 'Who wants to have 100 points'. The boys didn't use their lifeline's wisely at all. They all ended up with 10 points.

Thursday was Wheel of Fortune night.

I put Asa in charge of the puzzles.

We had four in total. Calib won two.

Then Peyton won two rounds as well. His total was just 1,000 more than Calib's so he got to go on to the bonus round.

Calib and Hayden didn't stay around to see it though.

The final puzzle: Anchorage, Alaska. Peyton got it right!

Friday poor Calib drowned his 'Lebron James back to Cleveland' sorrows by playing some NBA on the PS3. Poor kid. I feel AWFUL that I didn't take him to a Heat game now. This just extra means I have to get Peyton to see Peyton Manning play this year, or I'll feel even worse.

Thursday was also Deal or No Deal night. This is pretty much the reason the boys look forward to game week. The way I put it together even I had no idea what was in what case.

Hayden was up first, he picked case number 8.

Peyton and Calib waited their turn, and were the supporters for Hayden.

Hayden eventually took a deal (for the first time ever, he's always gone all his way with his case before!) He took a deal for 30 points, when he had 14 (i think) in his case.

Then, my camera died. Peyton picked case number 12, and ended up making a deal for 19 points (there was something like 4 in his case, so it was a good deal). Calib picked case number 4 and took it to the very end. The two cases left had either 2 or 27. He refused the deal, and stayed with his case. Lucky thing too, it was the one with 27 points in it.

Today Hayden had a build n grow class at Lowes, so I took him out to New Port Richey for it. They're building a Lowe's right by our house and I cannot wait till it's open! We won't have to go so far anymore.

I only had to help him hammer in one nail today. He got it a little sideways, but he did the rest all by himself, directions and all. I didn't say a thing.

This week I ordered the boys some new clothes. The Children's Place was having a huge sale, plus I had a 40% off coupon code, and they were doing free shipping. I got lots of shirts for the boys for $2 and $3 a piece. I was most excited about getting Calib and Peyton matching shirts for the Amazing Race party we're having in a couple weeks, since they'll be a team.

Tonight we wrapped up game week the way we started it-- with a game of Jeopardy. The boys liked it so much, they asked if we could play it again. Since the board was already up, and it only took about 45 minutes to put together the questions, I figured we could give it another go.

Halfway through you can see their strategies. Hayden again, was kind of all over the place. Calib saved all the hard ones for last, while Peyton saved all the easy ones for last.

Here's the deal, I took some questions that they had gotten wrong earlier in the week, and put them back on the board. Despite this, Calib still got his daily double question wrong. He bet it all, so it left him with nothing for Final Jeopardy.

So he was long gone by the time I tried to read his final question (the category was the same- things you should know, but probably don't)

Hayden didn't know his final question either. (Can't you tell by his picture?) He only bet 1000 on it though.

Peyton bet it all, and he (again) was the only one to get his final question correctly, so he is the two-time Jeopardy champ!

That's it for game week!

Next Up: It's a baseball Sunday for us!
