2020(1) Summer Games Day 5: Badminton & Gymnastics

Welcome to Day 5 of the 2020 Olympics!

Our events include Gymnastics, so I set up a course of various Gymnastics activities outside. Fastest time on the course would be the winner.

In a nod to the Rhythmic Gymnastics, we had a ribbon they had to make ten full rotations with.

Then they had to get on the "pommel horse" and take a few runs around the firepit before jumping over the "uneven bars"

Before making their way through the rings..

And then onto Floor Exercise (basically a towel where they did a summer sault.)

Peyton and Hayden both ran the course earlier in the day, since Calib was at work, and had their times recorded.

The other event was badminton. Basically you got ten serves of water balloons and had to break them with your racket.

Again, Peyton and Hayden took their turns. They both got ten, so we went on to three tie-breaker pitches.

And then we wait for Calib.

Our featured country of the day was Argentina, which meant we were going to be having a very decadent dessert.

I present to you: The Chocotorta.  It's delicious, but it is rich... and a lot. You can half... or fourth that recipe and still have plenty.

But before we could get to dessert, we had dinner of Choripan con Chimichurripotatoes with basil, and  carrots with pistachio-herb butter. (A couple of those links aren't exactly what we used during the country project, so I just found something similar).

After dinner Calib was home and ready for his events. But first, Asa took a couple badminton swings.

And then Calib...

Before he was on to the timed Gymnastics.

Check out Hayden and Calib's gymnastics times. Crazy close.

Peyton was asleep by the time we did the podium, but look at the chair, they picked out his candy and medal for him for Badminton.

(And then the next day we got Peyton's picture)

And our podium for Gymnastics. A close one!

The boys Gymnastics Mens Team Final Bets.
Medals went to ROC, Japan and China. Peyton and Hayden got paid out.
