2020(1) Summer Games Day 6: Equestrian

It's Day 6 of our 2020 Olympics, but it is also a Monday- so everyone is pretty busy. Still, we managed to get in our equestrian event.

I basically just repurposed a bunch of stuff from our Gymnastics course yesterday,  to make a new Equestrian course. Fastest time to run the course on the horse, twice, was the winner.

Any missed/knocked over obstacles would result in a time penalty.

First they jumped over the pool noodle gate.

Then they jumped through the ring, and ran through the pool of water.

Before jumping the bucket.

And through the next ring...

Then over the ribbon..

and another set of pool noodles.

Before making their way through one more pool of water

over the cups, and across the hurdles.

Time stopped when they hit the buzzer.

Peyton and Hayden ran the course on Asa's lunch, while Calib was still at work.

Dinner on Monday's and Tuesday is usually my job, but Asa was able to make a Moroccan Orange Cake.

When we did Morocco the dinner wasn't a huge hit, but the cake was. So I decided to make West Africa Fry-Fry. There's not really a recipe on it, but basically Fry fry is a catchall term for a variety of (usually fried) foods—plus spaghetti, randomly—that is served on the street with bread. You can check it all out on my Sierra Leone blog.

I did find some Moroccan Spaghetti for the middle of our fry fry though! (It wasn't much different than regular spaghetti, honestly).

And we did have some Tamarind-date sauce which is delicious!

Our fry fry..

Hayden loved this one- but didn't remember it from the country project!

Calib ate dinner with us and then ran his equestrian course.

But Hayden came out the winner on this one.

Our equestrian medalists.

And the Equestrian Bets for Dressage Grand Prix
The medals went to Germany, the US, and Great Britain, so no pay outs today.
