50 days. That's five-zero. We were talking today about what things were like two months ago. We were considering things like maybe Peyton won't be able to go on his cruise, and what if they cancel Wrestlemania. But now it's like OF COURSE those things got canceled. Are you crazy?
So the question is two months from today, we will be sitting here saying it was crazy we thought maybe Disney would open again, that life would get back to "normal", or will we be like "remember how we thought this could last until they find a vaccine?", remember how we were worried about school in the fall? Who knows. Will we not climb that much past our current 1.1 million cases and 65,000 deaths?
I think it's the uncertainty that kills me. It's a practice in patience for sure.
But while we sit her waiting for the unknown to happen, Hayden and I have spent the last five weeks making sure we do at least one fun thing a day and recording it on the calendar, so at the end of the month we could look at it and say "we may have been stuck inside a lot- but look at all the fun we had". We've arrived at the end of the five week period. So now, it's like 'now what?' Do we start all over? Or at the end of five weeks, will their be plenty on the calendar. I DON'T KNOW! UGH.
I did alright today, Onward we go!
So how are you all feeling? Like Phenom, ready to start the day, admiring the scenery. Or like Dipper, leave me the eff alone?
My sunflowers are starting to come, and that'll be lovely.
And Asa and I went out today. Well, out as in we drove to Panera and back without ever getting out of the car, or having any contact with any people. But man, there are a lot more cars out there than the last time I went.
Anyway, I had a reward for $10 off my order of $40 for Panera, and I'd been intrigued with their "grocery" section, where they recently started selling grocery items. Everything from bread to produce to milk. So, we got a pound and a half of two kinds of cheeses, a couple of loaves of bread, 8 bags of chips, grapes, and two avocados for $30. We pulled into the spot for online pick up, popped the trunk and a guy with gloves and a mask came out, dropped it in and gave us a thumbs up and off we went. Perfect.
Then I made lunch for everyone with our supplies. It tasted like we were at Panera, and we still have lots left.
I grilled some, others of us just had the bread plain.
Asa even paired his with a bowl of soup and the ends of the sourdough bread.
We also thought Day 50 was the perfect time to hold the 2020 Coronavirus Olympics.
Events included handwashing. They were graded based on their thoroughness, how close they were to 20 seconds, and conservation of water (it doesn't need to run while you lather up!)
Asa and I were the judges. (Peyton was the winner, but for a medal we were doing this triathlon style)
Next Up: Stocking toilet paper. You had to take each package of toilet paper from their delivery spot to the bathrooms- two in each bathroom). You were timed from the minute you started on the rug to the minute you came back.
Peyton won that one too, by less than a second.
The final challenge was endurance: who can watch Youtube the longest. Peyton had the gold wrapped up with his wins in the first two events, and Calib bailed quickly.
So here are your Coronavirus Olympic medalists. (Yes, I made medals). The winner receives a one time stimulus payment of $12.
We got a half off coupon code for Uber eats, good only today so we decided to order some Wawa subs and drinks for dinner. So now we track our delivery people on the TV, this is life now.
Samuel had it arrive safe and sound with no-contact delivery, and we ate out on the porch. It was lovely.
Now I'm off to watch the Imagineering Story with Asa in the hammock outside, for date night.
Most popular game: NCAA has been on all day.
Boredness scale 1 to 10: 5. Not bad today.
Frozen II Watchthroughs: Just finished the 30th watch through.
Trips to the store: 4 (2 Publix, 1 Costco, 1 Lowes), and four take out trips (Capital Tacos, 2 PDQ, and a Blaze DIY Pizza Kit) Does Panera count as a store or take out trip?
Grocery Deliveries: 8 (4 Costco, 4 Publix)
Food Delivery Nights: 6 (Greenland Grill & Taco Bell, and BJ's, McDonalds, and 2 Wawa)
How many times we've walked the loop: 34. None today.
Days Down: 50- and Asa said if you told me 50 days ago I would have to stay home for 50 days he would not think I'd be handling as well on day 50 as I am, so I guess that's something. I actually think I'm doing better on day 50 than I was on 25. I'm getting used to it, I think.
Days Remaining: Undetermined. But at least 1 more.
