Social Distancing Journal, Day 53

I haven't really been paying that much attention to cases. I think that's the thing. It used to be 'oh my gosh, 100 people died today', and now it's like nobody even mentions it till it crosses another 10,000. That happened today by the way, 70,000 people. Somewhere around 1.2 million cases. The same thing happens with that number. 37,000 cases in Florida.

It's kind of like the days. We're on day fifty-something. I'm lost in the 50s. It won't be notable until we get to the 60s. And then the 70s. The goal is still to stay home, and see what happens over the next few weeks. Hopefully we will feel safe to go to the beach on June 1st (a Monday) for Calib's birthday.

We are still subject to cancellations here. CEO at the end of June got moved to December a few days ago. But, that sucks for Peyton who gets a trip to CEO for his birthday (it's always held the weekend before his birthday).

Our final payment for our Disney anniversary trip is due next week too. Still trying to figure out what to do with that.

But hey, seems legit to start winding down the coronavirus task force at the White House. I'm so annoyed with all of this. I honestly believe the plan is still to 'not let the cure be worse than the disease' and just opening stuff up to 'save' the economy. But after the backlash the White House got the first time around, they're not going to frame it that way again. Sure they're going to act like that, but they're not going to say it.

Today we're all on groundhog day. It feels like same old-same old. There's been threats of moving people up to fight club though...  (and I wrote part of this blog earlier in the day, we did in fact all move to Fight Club).

It actually feels a lot like yesterday. I had the same thing for lunch (cauliflower rice and lentils, homemade pita chips, and a yogurt). And Peyton and Hayden are doing the exact same thing as yesterday. Peyton's been playing Animal Crossing all day (his classes are over for the semester), and Hayden is watching more Star Wars movies (he's onto the originals, which are personally my favorite).

And Calib is sitting out here whining about Peyton eating all the Takis, and complaining about still having math class (to do with grandma) when it should have been over by now.

(And here's the after picture of him doing math with grandma.

We did celebrate James Monroe's birthday today (a week late- but I try to space them out so Hayden remembers them better).

But the "Era of Good Feelings" President who ran virtually unopposed in both of his elections doesn't offer too much excitement.

Even the dogs are bored today.

I did manage to squeeze in an after lunch walk with Asa.

And we saw a bunch of tiny baby gators (like four or five of them in one pond!)

And then I had a surprise up my sleeve for dinner. Last night I wanted to order a taco kit from Tijuana Flats and surprise everyone. But Asa made me tell him what I was doing. I had to cross my fingers all day that he wouldn't blow the surprise.

But then like half an hour before the order was supposed to be here we got an email that the order had been cancelled, with no explanation, and the order is pending in the bank account. We called, and got put on hold twice, and had nobody come back for half an hour. Finally we hung up.

So, I switched gears and decided to order Moes through Uber Eats. The order was supposed to take 45 minutes. It took 90. And we didn't even get our queso.

Very first world kind of problems, and the boys were surprised anyway. But, it wasn't ideal. You know, I guess that's kind of life now. Make the best of less than ideal situations.

It did come with a lot, though, and we all had full tummies.

Tomorrow is another day. I've been kind of in a funk the last day and a half, so I'm hoping tomorrow I come around.

Current binge watching obsession: Billions, and  Afterlife. But we've had some Voice sprinkled in.

Most popular game: Animal Crossing again today.

Boredness scale 1 to 10: 7. I'm not even bored so much as just "blah".

Frozen II Watchthroughs: 30. No new ones today. We've been watching Star Wars all day for the second day in a row.

Trips to the store: 4 (2 Publix, 1 Costco, 1 Lowes), and four take out trips (Capital Tacos, 2 PDQ, and a Blaze DIY Pizza Kit) Does Panera count as a store or take out trip?

Grocery Deliveries: 8  (4 Costco, 4 Publix)

Food Delivery Nights: 8 (Greenland Grill & Taco Bell, and BJ's, McDonalds, Capital Tacos, 2 Wawa, and a Moes)

How many times we've walked the loop: 37. Just the once today. it was too hot to take Ellie on the whole loop this morning.

Days Down: 53

Days Remaining: Undetermined. But probably 26 more. That's how far we are from June 1st.
